The mission of Telangana Nair Seva Society (TNSS) is to unite the Nair community across Telangana and work diligently for the holistic welfare of its members. We strive to establish and affiliate Karayogams wherever necessary, promote access to education and healthcare, support traditional and cultural services, and uphold social equality and religious harmony. Through collective efforts, we aim to build a strong, self-reliant community rooted in cultural pride and mutual support.
Karayogam is the basic unit of the Nair Seva Society. It is a community-based organization operating at the city or neighborhood level. The term “Karayogam” is derived from two Malayalam words—‘Kara’ meaning locality and ‘Yogam’ meaning assembly or gathering. A Karayogam typically consists of Nair families residing in a defined geographical area. It functions as a democratic unit where members can voice their opinions, participate in decision-making, and benefit from collective community programs.
Karayogams have played a crucial role in keeping the community cohesive and connected. They foster a sense of belonging and identity while ensuring that the core values of the Nair community are passed down through generations. Today, there are thousands of active Karayogams in Kerala and other parts of India and the world, reflecting the extensive reach and unity of the community.
